The work of more expensive and bulkier punches is done faster and easier by this tool. It can be used overhead to pre-punch rivet holes in suspended ceiling grids or in any edge application for making holes in window extrusions, metal ductwork, or sheet stock. With compound leverage, it increases one hand mechanical advantage 8 to 1. Spring return handles allow quick set-up for repetitive applications. The tool comes with a 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) punch and die pre-installed on the tool, as well as a 3/16 inch (4.8 mm) punch and die assembly. Punch and die assemblies in 3.6, 4.1 and 6.3 mm sizes are also available separately. The tool steel punches and dies can be changed or replaced on the job. A stop gauge permits tool throat depth adjustments from 1/4 to 1-1/8 inches (6.4 to 28.6 mm) for easy hole placement. The tool body consists of a lightweight, die-cast aluminum "C" frame head and hardened steel handles and parts stampings with rust-resistant, nickel plating to ensure long service life.

The tool is made with a tool steel punch and a die-cast zinc frame, and has a maximum capacity of 24 gauge (2 layers). The 1/8" and 3/16" punches and dies are easily interchangeable. It also features a red vinyl cushion grip and compound handle leverage for ease of use.
